I can imagine the scenario where you have taken a paper & pen & noted down all the coach no walking the entire length of platform which was once the job of a Trains clerk. Sadly that post is no more in rlys.
but i have seen several times in last couple of years, one employee in khaki uniform jotting down the coach numbers.
Sometimes RPF do that job... But Trains clerk was from Operating deptt RPF is an entirely different post &their nature of duty is separate..
