agree to ur point but plz note that route will have some serious terrain issues (ghats) n to minimize the cost of projects, for constructing tunnels etc they have taken a longer route.. construction of road is easy while construction of railway line in ghats is challenging... hence the terrain is selected so as to minimise the interference with ghat region...
