31km doubling commissioning in 1 year for Kayamkulam-Ernakulam project against an avg of 12 kms in last 5 years is really a big achievement. Starting of work for another 36.5km stretch is icing on the cake.
Pace of doubling/ new lines/ Guage conversion and electrification has really picked up since last 2 years and if the tempo continues for another 3-4 years, we could see higher average speeds and better punctuality of trains on IR network.
