* Railways change hands from one chartered accountant to other and one dynamic minister to the other.
* With Mr Goyal continuing with coal ministry, MoSs shall have a bigger role to play.
* The justification for making him RM, that IR need a minister who can arrange funds for the modernisation, and expansion of Rly network and he is good at it, is not enough. In fact, Mr. Prabhu was also good at it, as the commissioning of new lines have doubled in last 3 years.

Mr. Goyal face an uphill task as RM, as the biggest challenge at present is to tame the bureaucracy & union and bring in improvements in work culture & organisational structure, which none of RMs (including Mr. Prabhu) could do in past. Need of the hour is is efficient utilisation of vast resources- funds, manpower, trains, projects etc deployed in IR. The funds automatically flow to the organisations who manage them well and to projects which are profitable.
