SagarJambagaru~ 375 blog postsI am told by one of my relatives who travelled in this train from Bengaluru to Shivamogga Town recently, that a small portion (about 25-30 KMs) of double line between Tumkur and Arsikere which is ready will be opened for traffic by the railways from tomorrow i.e., 1st December 2017. If it is true, it is really a good news as it will mitigate the problem of crossing being faced on this single line. However, if the entire portion from Tumkur to Arsikere is doubled, it is good as the trains need not wait for crossing. Hope, railways willl finish this work very fast.
I travelled in this train on 12th Dec 2017 from SBC to SMET and found during my journey that this may not take place very soon although at some places in between Tiptur and Arsikere and also from Tiptur to Tumlkur though they have laid the track, it is not complete as in some places the bridge work is still to be completed. However, may be in another six month's time I think they are going to open some portion of this double track construction to rail traffic.
Track linking works at Kardi, Honnavalli Road, Tipturu are not yet done.
