Baiyappanhalli to Hosur section Doubling with Electrification has to be extended to Omalur junction ( Near Salem SR divisional Hqs ).Omalur to Salem section is already Doubled with Electrification.
Baiyappanhalli to Omalur junction Doubling with Electrification facilitate additional North - South connectivity to the Southern states of Tamilnadu and Kerala,since Kerala to Karnataka via Kodagu rail lines implementation possibilities are diminished.
Moreover ,this Baiyappanhalli to Omalur doubling via Hosur relieved the over congested Bengaloru to Jolarpettai route.
