Nothing really wrong in the way they named them. The traditional Gond kingdoms in the late 18th century were centered around Nagpur, Sirpur (SKZR now) and Garha (Jabalpur), with most of the present day Nagpur-Hoshangabad route having been under Gond rule for a long time. 'Gondwana' express is quite an apt name for any train terminating at or passing through Nagpur.

I don't think there is nothing wrong in the name. Please note that when this train was started before the creation of Chattisgarh . Its used to Unified Madhya Pradesh. Also please note that Rani Durgawati most famous Gond queen was from Jabalpur.
