Many people on IRI are so funny
1. They won't let their train get extended but will demand the extension of others' trains
2. The will ask for shutting down/diverting trains with poor patronage if it doesn't pass through their route but have innumerable excuses when it comes to a train passing through their own route

Correct.
This statement was also for those people who think the Diesel Locos should be abolished from our system in total. The day when India starts producing electricity only by Renewable Sources of Energy, then electrification will be of any use. Now, it is just a modern brother of diesel.

No one said diesel should be abolished from our system... We are just making our system future proof.
USA has low cost of diesel due to sufficient crude oil produce in their country
But
India has to purchase 80 % crude oil from outside which badly impact on rupees.
