Railways have issued a clarification regarding the recent revision in timings of many trains as a temporary rearrangement of timings. In view of the extensive Rail Safety Track Works going on in Southern Railway resulting in the daily late running of trains in various divisions, Southern Railway has re-arranged the arrival timings of certain trains to enable passengers to accurately know the correct time of arrival at their destinations.
Accordingly, 92 trains have been re-timed in Thiruvananthapuram, Palakkad, Salem and Chennai Divisions with effect from 13th June 2018. Majority of the trains have been rationalized to the extent of 30 minutes only. One or two trains have been rationalized to the extent of 45 to 60 minutes.

measure is purely temporary and will last till the urgent and pivotal safety works are completed in Thiruvananthapuram, Palakkad, Salem and Chennai Divisions.
Passengers are requested to kindly co-operate with Southern Railway as this has been done primarily to enable them to know accurately their time of arrival of trains at destinations.
