As of May 31, 1,36,965 bio-toilets have been fitted in 37,411 coaches, at a cost of around Rs 1 lakh per toilet, according to railway ministry...
* Why is IR always in a hurry to show that they are very efficient by hurriedly replacing the toilets with the models of bio-toilets which are not suitable for our trains and are not working well. Some experts were beforehand raising the doubt about the performance & suitability of such toilets in IR.

* First and foremost duty of Indian Railways is to operate, maintain, modernize and expand to meet the freight and passenger transportation needs of the country.
