Premier trains introduced on highly congested routes seem to be playing havoc with existing superfast trains across the country. The latest victim in this series is...
SFs are kings over a route, only as long as there is no premium train on the route. Once premium train like Raj/Shat is introduced, SF is dethroned.
But that doesn't means the premier trains shouldn't be introduced.
Shatabdi too suffers due to Kovai on this route.
The travel time was increased by 20 mins after conversion to shatabdi.
Instead Railways should have introduced kovai in the reverse direction.

There is an existing super fast in the return direction. 12679 - MAS CBE Intercity FYI.
The best thing would be is to advance the timings of MAS CBE Shatabdi between 6-6.30 am from MAS end and CBE MAS Shatabdi to arrive MAS between 9.30-10 pm.
It would also cater to the connecting travellers for north bound trains.
