Too many calls for doctors on running trains from passengers who don’t really have serious medical needs have made Indian Railway revise the fee for medical...
* I always thank by heart Mr Prabhu for starting the onboard help to the needy travelers on occasion of emergency at nominal cost, whenever news appears that somebody has got emergent medical help on train.
* But some mischevious/selfish people misuse this facility by requesting medical help for trivial reasons, making a mockery of the doctor who comes all the way to rly station and waits a long time for the train to arrive, leaving his/her regular but serious patients waiting.

At home people (travelling in SL and upwards) won't even call the doctor whose fee is rs 100, thinking he may not be as good as the one with visit fee of 500 rs. So, yes this fee is quite nominal for reserved travellers.
