* One of the best HST route in the world is Tokyo-Osaka (515kms against 508km of MUM-AHM)
* India has 2 big disadvantages as compares to Japan (1) Very low per capita income and disposable income of Indians as compared to Japanese (2) Much lesser passenger density (Paxs/seats per station or population per sq.KM of land
* Miscellaneous facilities like child feeding room shall eat up a lot of space in the coaches of Bullet Train and drive up the cost per seat of Bullet Train.
*

IR should ask the suppliers of Shinkansen trains to rejig the layout of coach to fit more seats (by dropping miscellaneous facilities &/or going for convenient double-decker versions of the coaches) to reduce the cost per seat so that the fare is within the buying power of large number of people.
* Else the target of carrying over 1 lac paxs per day on the proposed route shall never be achieved.
* The delay in land acquisition is blessing in disguise, this time can be utilised for the development of new coaches to need Indian environment
