IR is befooling the public by saying that they have collected 500 crores extra throuh premium trains because of flexifares. actually it might have lost the revenue in real terms.
Revenue through premium trains had been increasing at fast pace before implementation of flexifares since sept'16. Had flexifares not been introduced, then as per past trend, the revenue would have been much higher than in 2016. And since then a large number of seats/ berths of premium flexifare trains had added through coach augmentation/ new trains, so the revenue should have increased by bigger margins
