To take care of Kerala passengers to Bangalore and Mysore, I would suggest that out of 5 daily trains from TVC to MAQ, one should be extended to MYS and SBC on alternate days. SWR can take up maintenance at MYS/ SBC. Thereby we get a train from Mangalore to MYS and SBC.
I would suggest that a new train from MAQ to MAQ via Hassan, Mysore, Bangalore, Salem, Coimbatore, Calicut, Kannur. Circular train to cover the distance in around 24 hours. 3 days clockwise and 3 days counterclockwise. Win win for all - passengers of Kerala, Karnataka and TN - Kerala get a train to Bangalore, Karnataka get a train in Mangalore to Bangalore route and TN get a train from Bangalore to Salem and Coimbatore. SR can operate from Mangalore as well as from Coimbatore. SWR can operate such a train from Bangalore.
One more suggestion would be a SR train MAQ to Puducherry via Hassan, YPR, KPD. Distance via SRR and this route is same around 800 KM's.
One more suggestion is Salem to Udupi via Hosur, SBC, Mysore, MAJN.
