if you book from SBC either 16523 or 16517 you have to pay SF charges. But if u book from MYS no SF charges. Dont know the logic behind this.
I think it is done after electrification between SBC-MYS. Something partial SF like. Railway not updated its name as SF but charging Rs.30 as SF.

Between Bengaluru - Mysuru - Bengaluru its a SF and beyond Mysuru till Karwar/Kannur its M/E
if we book from SBC to MAQ/CAN you would endup in paying SF charges. At least could have avoid long dist pax and charge SF in between SBC & MYS.
2 h 35 minutes for 137 km in a FEDL section...what is there to charge sf fare in it just for this section only..and a memu with 20 halts is covering it in 3hours(06575) !
