Even approved it will take a decade to materialize, in year ~2030, all way to cut the forest will still be a distant dream.
It will not be that easy.....The Forest Department has genuine concerns as the line passes through reserved areas and forest .Part of the proposal includes a 11-km underground stretch passing through Bandipur Wildlife Sanctuary. But i guess in an earlier article it was said that proposal was given wherein line could be implemented without disturbing wildlife in the Bandipur Wildlife Reserve.

These guys will never speak about the loss caused to flora and fauna. Bandipur area lost lot of trees this year due to major fire and this selfish mentality is planning to kill more.
Never ever budge to destroy nature...
People should make advance planning to reach destinations on time or what ever reasons and Govt cannot implement a railway line at the cost of mother nature. We cannot destroy nature.....

Alternative is to strengthen the existing rail line between Hassan and Mangalore via Sakleshpur. The trains on this route have speed restrictions, thereby increasing the travel time. SWRailway and Konkan Railway should carry out the upgrade of this link, so that speed restrictions are removed and travel time from Bangalore to Mangalore and North Kerala can be drastically reduced.
