Well, i already know the difference between GTO and IGBT based traction converters used in WAP-7. So no need to give me the link. The point is, only few sheds mark their P7 with "i" because all the newer WAP-7 locos are based on IGBT technology as GTO technology is obsolete. So no need to add "i" on locos which don't have that marking. Hope you're getting my point.
In short, all the new WAP-7 locos (probably 304xx afterwards) are fitted with IGBT based traction converters. Therefore they all are actually WAP-7(I) locos. But only few sheds put "i" markings on them, hence creating confusion.
For now, we can update "i" only for those locos which have marking on them.
