Always the development happened outside karnataka main land interms of railway infra. To reach Pune from Bangalore, shortest is via Arsikere/Hubli and not via Anathpur/Guntakal/Solapur...
Fast Track the doubling and ensure the Electrification starts parallely. This will save time and money. Then Lot of trains can ply thru Karnataka to Mumbai and beyond.
