* SK trains were meant to provide fastest Non-Rajdhani connection from prominent cities of each state to the National Capital.
* Accordingly, fewer stops were given, but not enough priority was accorded to these trains. As a result, their avg speeds are not commensurately higher. Take the case of TNSK vs TNExp, APSK vs Telangana Exp, Maha/Guj SK vs GTMail/Swaraj
* This is probably due to reason that these trains were announced by Mr. Nitish Kumar in interim budget and the incumbent RM honoured the announcement but did not take enough care...

* SKs can very easily be given stops at prominent stations like Surat, Kalyan without making any changes in existing TT, much to the convenience of public as well as IR (more occupancy/revenue).
