Earning, expense, profit/loss and profit/loss% of various zones of IR. Other than 6 zones (ECoR, SECR, SER, NCR, WCR, SCR), rest all zones are now loss making. The profit/loss% is directly proportional to the operating ratio of the zone

This EMU service of ER specially SDAH division is one of the cause of loss of ER..../blog/post/4419320
Read budget. 66% revenue of India Rail revenue goes to salary of Employees. Rest goes to fuel electric. infrastructure only 4%. How Rail infrastucture will develop ???? Besides dishonest Ticket checker,RPF, commercial dept staff takes bribe. Besides maximum Rail officers are Corrupt. Besides Goods Train material is stolen by setting with RPF. How Rail can profit. If this corruption can be root out, Indian Rail can earn 5 times. No need to fare hike. Flight Fare is cheaper than AC train. Search Kolkata to Guwahati Flight & train ticket & compare. So be practical......Do not excited by paper information
Who told you that Ticket less passengers is high ??? Now 98% people travel with ticket. 2% is student or poor unemployee. Nobody take risk RS 250 fine. Besides Ticket checker takes RS 100 to RS 150 without any receipt. Poor People prefer this option as low money need to give. Please come to Dankuni yard. You can see how Coal is stolen in presence of RPF. So passenger train is not loss factor. Corruption in IR need to root out
Ticketless passengers problem is faced more by Sealdah Division than Howrah Division
I believe dent for revenue more towards officials concession rather than ticket less passengers.
