irifan2015~ 2433 blog postsThe rake is idle at SBC from morning to evening. Can the rake go to Salem and return under a different train number during idle time? Say by SBC dep 0915 Salem arrival 1330; Salem dep 1400 and arrival sbc 1830.
If this is a problem, central railway and SWR can think of RSA with central railway's Dadar Chennai Salem rake idle at Salem from morning 4 to night 9. Something like udyan rake to Salem and further goes as Egmore express and to Dadar. Vice versa.

The timings u mentioned are more or less following SBC Erkm intercity exp and upto Salem may not have much occupancy. Moreover traffic pattern is generally small towns to big cities in the morning and return in evening.
Udyan is under consideration to be extended to to Mysuru. MP of MYS made a proposal and sent it to MoSR
A year or two ago, this was being proposed, but then there was no further action. Is this still under consideration?
