In my view the best option would be to introduce a train from Durg to Indore via R- BSP -KTE- Bina - maksi - Dewas !!!
I mean that loss of quota to NGP for INDB due to extension of one train(12913/12923) to R can be compensated by increasing other train's (12913/12923) frequency.
Weekly train will not do...

Read the statement carefully, I clearly mentioned about increasing the frequency( biweekly, triweekly or regular as per demands).
- Amarkantak Express (Durg-BSP-JBP-ET-BPL) was introduced in lieu of Mahanadi Express (BSP-Durg-NGP-BPL) to give connectivity from Durg/Raipur to Jabalpur in addition to Bhopal. Amarkantak served the dual purpose but in a poor way i.e. Durg/R to BPL was longer route & timing of JBP arrival is during midnight.

- After GC of JBP-Gondia, JBP-G-Durg-Raipur day time intercity will be the shortest, cheapest, fastest & most convenient connectivity between Durg/R & JBP. Mahanadi (BSP-Durg-NGP-BPL-INDB) will be most convenient for Durg/R & BPL/IND
