Recently used this chain for journey from UMB to YPR
The buffer time was around 2 hrs 30 minutes, and leaving margin for freshening after overnight journey, and doing the boarding formalities, it was close to 1 hrs and 45 minutes of rail-fanning.
Firstly Chhattisgarh Express/18238 arrived at PF#2 at NZM.
The train had quite arrival at NZM ,as against expectations, there was no incoming crowd, disturbing in sleep. So, it was

luck by chance that I woke up to my intermediate destination, and hurriedly got down.
The journey in Chhattisgarh Express/18238
was good , with new AC-2 Coach . All bedding was available at pt. of boarding, incl towel, though did not use the towel,....a big privelege on trains, to get towel without asking.
The trip journey is covered here
Anyway, coming to NZM, it was pretty busy time in early morning hours at NZM,
Total 7 PFs are there at NZM, out of which, PF#7 is used for departure of south bound trains originating at NZM.
PF#6 used for trains arriving from Mathura side arriving and terminating at NZM.
PF#1 rarely used, but mostly saw being used for trains departing towards Meerut, as observed twice 19019 arriving from BDTS and departing towards DDN at PF#1.
PF#3 is used mainly for trains coming from Mathura side and passing thro' towards NDLS/ASR/JAT like Swaraj/ DDR-ASR/Malwa/GT/TN... and all.
Coming to alighting from 18238 at PF#2, Dadar ASR soon arrived on PF#3. And the observation was it had a military coach attached, and properly labelled so, and occupied mainly by non-military people,...this was at 0419 hrs.
Soon, afterwards, was announced arrival of Swaraj Express at same PF#3.
It came and went in hurry......nice to see this train maintaining its schedule.
Followed by Malwa 12919 running full 45 minutes late, and it arrived at PF#3 at NZM at 0525 hrs....
In the mean time was available Dakshin Express was available at PF#6.
So this train has been quite confusing one as regards to its CC.. so it had to be checked minutely..
And started from NDLS end, where there were coaches of Link Express 12862 followed by those of Dakshin SF Express/12721.
The train was piloted by LGD WAP-7 #30297. Anyway, more important was to note and see CC of this train..
It was like this:- Loco- (12861 Link Coaches) - SLR- S-4/10-S-5/9-S-6/8-B1-A1-SLR(Of Dakshin)-A-1-B-2-PC-S8-S9-S10-S11-S12-S13-S14-GS-G S-GS-GS-SLR(LD).
Hopefully the CC is same here...
''''''''''''Very strange method of numbering the main train and slip coaches.''''''''''
Followed by observing two locos , both WAP-4s standing back-to-back at so called PF#8, with TRUCKS for company.
One was ED shed, another one was of BSL shed- numbered#22572 and 22203.
Soon to give company to Dakshin Express on PF#6 arrived Kota NZM SF Special.
............Special train running on time...
The CC was Sleeper-SLR-GS-GS-S4-S3-S2-S1-B1-AB1-GS-SLR.
And the loco was BRC Shed WAM-4E#20553, which did not had rest, as it had to proceed back to kota soon..
Anyway saw a new Loco-WAM-4E...
The return train NZM Kota Special 09808
had good occupancy too. and coaches were not bad either,,.
This train is very much needed for passengers of Kota....
This much in Part-I as its too long now..
The saga will continue from Malwa Express onwards in Part-II, with few snaps too...
And joining the saga will be NZM-TVC Express, BDTS-HW-DDN Express, UP SK Express, Indore -NZM ICE, SBC-NZM Rajdhani, Mewar Express, Goa Express, some in guest appearance only, followed by trip report of
Karnataka Sampark Kranti Express/12650

Hope you enjoy this ....
Thanks.

---------------Part-II at NZM--------------
Finally Malwa arrived at PF#3 at around 0525 hrs, and had the nice name-board by the name of 'Malwa SF Express', reminding us that it was once normal M/E train only.
It has LD/SLR coach as the rear-most coach towards NDLS, followed by GS and S-11. That much only could be seen.....
No energy to walk the whole PF then..
By
...
that time,
Mumbai Dehradun Express/19019
was already available on PF#1.
Guess, it usually runs on or before time...
So, as seen previously,
[|it required close observation as regards to att/det of coaches at HW|/blog/post/443034/1].
And alas, the true picture is:-
the train has att/det of coaches at 3 places..
The CC is :-
(HCPV-GS-GS-S11-S10-SLR-A1-H1) - NR Rake >>-<< WR Rake (-S9-S8-S7-S6-HW Coaches----S5-S4-S3-S2-S1-AB-GS-GS-HCPV-SLR/LD).
The loco change-over had already happened and it had crimson red WDM - 3A 16653 of TKD shed attached to it. (3100 HP inscribed on the loco).
Then saw 2 brother-in-arms moving in Symphony......towards PF#8 end.
The bros were Duronto-ised WAP-7 and WAP-5...
In the mean time , arrived
Indore Nizamuddin Express/12415
on PF#???? with following CC:-SLR-D3-HA1-A1-B1-B2-B3-S13----S1-D2-D1-SLR.
By this time,
Thirukkural Superfast Express/12642
had already berthed on PF#7, the PF earmarked for dep of Soth-bound trains originating from NZM..
And the excitement to see this train was much more, as this train I had not seen previously ever...
.Was it a case of over-excitement........????????????????.
The CC of the train was:-HCPV-HCPV-SLR-GS-GS-B2-B1-A1-S7-S6-S5-PC-S4-S 3-S2-S1-GS-GS-Milk Tanker 1 - Milk Tanker 2.....
THE LOCO was WAM-4/6E of Arrakonam shed...
Again, this was typical loco, as had seen this one previously at Kazipet Jn, and was eager to see it closely
And, what great it was to capture it at less than an arm length....The Loco No. was #21267 WAM -4/6 PE.The snaps too were taken..
The only dis-appointment was that there was no train-board at waist-length on the train, which are put on SLRs..
so maybe they were on other side of train.......
so much for shortage of train boards...!
Next trains, which were to arrive on the scene were UP Sampark Kranti and Goa Express, esp. Goa Express, esp Gpa Express, about which the announcer was repeatedly telling that its running late by good 15 minutes...Alas a good train by IR standards, and still expression of regret by the IR announcer....
Chalo, GOOD.......
Then the next target was
Uttar Pradesh Sampark Kranti Express/12447
which again required close observation, as it too has slip coaches....
The train arrived , not sure though abt PF though...
The CC was :- >>> Khajuraho portion 1st- SLR-GS-GS-GS-S6-AB-B-SLR->>>Manikpur Portion----SLR-GS-GS-HA1-A1-B1-S5-S4-S3-S2-S1-GS-G S-GS-SLR----
So the slip portion had more AC accomodation than sleeper coaches..
Snapped both the main and slip portion...
By that time, KSK rake could be seen chugging in towards PF#7 from NDLS side..
so had to rush towards PF#7.
And, it was time for SBC NZM Rajdhani
to arrive too...
The only observations were:- it had 2 Duronto-ised coaches-A2 and B2..
Rest all ICF livery..
And the CC on that day was :- GCL-H1-A4-A3-A2-A1-PC-B8-----B1-GCL.
So, no extra coaches for the day......................
And now the time had come to give more attention to the KSK 12650
as I was not even aware which was my coach going to be, although tkt was confirmed...
In the mean time, while observing KSK closely, there was huge sound of the incoming train, and it did not took long time to realise that it was the Numero uno train of IR,
New Delhi Bhopal Shatabdi Express/12002
blasting thro NZM.
The CC was 2 Executive coaches+ 9CC + GCLs.
After that,
Goa Express too had arrived.
The door towards non-PF side of SLR of Goa Express was partially open, and at same time over-heard somebody shouting from PF#7, towards Goa Express to give XYZ qty 'Angoor paties' -----------------------------
So was it reason for SLR door on non PF side to be partially open like this??
Anyway, after Rajdhani rake moved out ,and it was moved out quickly too, came
Mewar express
on PF#6 with ET shed loco. WAP-4#22756..
Now, it was time to board to finally board and snap KSK, and the coach allotted was HA1, which was really great.....and twice checked on 139 to confirm it was HA1 only..
Thats the Rail-fanning session at NZM..
Hope , its good....and informative too......!!!!!!
Next will be snaps of trains, coaches, and the trip report of
Karnataka Sampark Kranti Express/12650
