nope. AK-KNW via BSL is 261 kms. Whereas New AK-KNW BG line will be 200 kms, 61 kms & 1 hrs less than AK-BSL-KNW route
200km single line unelectrified section may cover in 3.5hrs
261km double line electrified section covers in 3.5hrs
261km double line electrified section covers in 3.5hrs
But sooner the new AK-KNW BG Line will be electrified. 60 KM difference has some importance. Moreover, Itarsi-Bhusawal line is one of the heavy traffic Railway line and secondly loco reversal is required in AK-KNW at BSL. The new line open the door for the plying of new trains as well as traveling time will also reduced.
If the plan of KNW-AK BG line bypassing Melghat FTR is put into action, KNW-AK distance will become a whooping 300 kms going via TTZ - Purnad - Jalgaon Jamod - HKR City & ABZ. - AKOT. Satpura Mountainous Region around Melghat FTR & its adjacent areas is on very loose soil, unfit for big construction like BG railway line. Only if the BG line is made to run via Purnad - JAMOD - HKR City between TTZ & ABZ, the construction of BG line will be hassle free & no. of planned BG tunnels between TTZ & ABZ via TTZ-JAMOD will come down to just 2 from 4. Also 2 tunnels between Purnad & TTZ will be 4 kms altogether, unlike 2 nos mega 6 kms & 7 kms tunnel planned in TTZ-JAMOD-ABZ BG route. Route comparison
