What exactly does this train do in terms of speed? The train is certified for 160 kmph, however the maximum speed listed is 150. I do remember, that it was listed as 155 kmph here couple of years earlier.

Only Gatimaan runs at 160 kmph, because CRS clearance was exclusively issued for it (As i mentioned, WAP-5 + 12 coaches). All of its coaches have reflective tapes, and only few WAP-5 are assigned to clock 160 kmph.
BPL Shatabdi is certified for 150 kmph only, and right now it is restricted at 130 kmph. 155 kmph update is probably wrong.

Indeed, almost 3 n hlf yr ago i have witnessed 155kmph MPS hitting of this train, i used to travel then when i used to live in BHOPAL...but year by year it just got degraded in terms of speed in terms of services and priority and after extending upto HBJ This train lost its position of being the 2nd fastest train in India.

I understand. I was just confused because the mps was listed as 155 kmph back in the day(it is 150 listed now).

The stoppages at Morena and Lalitpur are usually frowned upon, right? When was it extended to HBJ and why? It spends the night at Delhi, then how does the extension to HBJ make sense. I thought it was due to paucity of yard space at BPL but that doesn't make sense in this case.

Lie over time of this train at bhopal for return journey of this train was between 1 to 1.5 hour so paucity if yard space or platform was never been a problem. Its just that so called VIP travellers of this train bound to delhi complained that during the departure time of this train from BPL, Bhopal faces huge traffic bcz of closing time of schools, morning shifts etc and bcz of traffic they struggle alot to catch this train so they proposed it to extend upto HBJ and unfortunately it happened..
