E-fication till RN is done, and KAWR-MAJN is also done, the remaining stretch won't take too long to complete.
Just like Pune-SUR-WADI, they'll probably run some trains on piggyback scheme after KAWR-MAO is done as KAWR does not have any significant lobby, and crew for diesel and electric is not same.

There were plans by KR to run most of the trains by piggyback system between Ratnagiri and Karwar. An official notice also came for the same around October November time.

It would cost far more to set up running room, lobby and do yard remodeling for what is a transition phase in a project.
