Shocked to hear the news that the engine of Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Shatabdi Express detached near Jaugram station in Burdwan district on Howrah-Burdwan section of Eastern Railway today.
The engine travelled 250 metres after the coupling separated from the bogies at 4:00 pm but the driver reversed it and joined the train, an Eastern railway spokesman said.

Probably Loose/Inappropriate Coupling and jerk might have caused the incident.
Nope!! not more than 130kph!! the tracks maybe certified by Raj, Duro's are permissible til 130kph only.
even in the past many lhb rajdhanis had this incidents earlier ...google and check it. the coupler has a fixed geometry which engages to the engine once impacted...its design is free from lateral and longitudnal stresses. but in case of lhb it can exceed upon certain limits ..it cannot be inplemented in newly manufac. coaches but has to be modified later by a small machining procedure...most probably this was not carried out as the officials thought that it could be done AARAM se...hence this incident...knowledge courtesy- unnamed officer at dlw varanasi....whom i spoke to yesterday..
