That's nice, but somewhere in NWR IRCTC proposals saw MS-PDY Shatabdhi don't know who proposed it.
While I am not against running new trains within the state, southern railway's deep coma attitude of refusing to think running train to other parts of country is irritating to say the least particularly when one sees WR and SWR running so many trains to small towns of UP, Bihar, etc. So TN may be only state which is at the mercy of other zones to get new trains and it is not surprising then that train of those zones get extended to other state as somebody here told about Gaya express.
I've spoken with SR officials, many aspects came alive, they r least intrested in trains to North including TN n GT. Next LHB will be Brindavan, Palani Express, Kaveri,Yercaud/Hyderabad Express. Àlso Speed upgradation in progress in all mainlines i.e MAS GDR, MAS AJJ RU, AJJ KPD CBE, MS VM TPJ. Max speed to be 120/130 soon works in progress. Tambaram nominated as the bullet train terminal n coaching depot.
In the last few years the amount of trains from East/North towards South has increased a lot ( a reflection of the general trend of migration in the country) . However the same cannot be seen in West South sectors or even intra zone/intra state trains in SR. One view which seems to have come out is there is limited infra especially with regard to pit lines/stabling lines in many SR stations . While many long distance trains arriving in South have seen a increase in speed due to ZBTT , there is still further scope for speed up which is not being accepted by many divisions due to various factors like PF availability, limited infra in stabling lines, pit lines etc
