This is sorry state of affairs in IR when trains are extended they reduce the quota and confine RL which is less then the previous demand. Total 620 seats allocated while it filled 500 seats still 120 seats are left. Today we have ready available of data and IR should take immediate steps to increase quota or add coaches by 2 nos. Today world is of competition and time. People look for confirm tickets rather wait till the last time to look for alternative mode. We as rail fans or IR here argue that leftover seats will automatically be confirmed at preceding station but for General travellers will not take like that unless he is a daily traveller. IR should change their mindset and decision making process should be fast.
