Agreed, but again TATA CKP Area missing connectivity via G/NGP towards Balharshah SC Mangalore Goa etc.

yes your last line is the most important reason, freight importance :)
Else trains could have included BKSC DHN also via PRR/MURI-CKP even TATA with a reversal, only skipping RNC.

With freight they end up making so much revenues that if they introduce more passenger trains, freight slots might get lost. It is a regular feature to see SER, SECR regularly amongst the top 2-3 zones in the country for freight revenues. From Railways points of view as well, the dependency on these zones is high to meet overall revenue targets !
