Long ago there was a discussion regarding the use of boarding point on IRCTC. I had mentioned that for some trains this works. Just so that people get to know that it really works here I have booked a ticket today from LNL to HYB with a boarding point of PUNE on 17031. Here is my PNR 8105424638 for reference
this works for those stations where d quota defined is same for both stations enroute of the train
