This train should travel more in west coast to justify the name. Can get extended to VSG avoiding MAQ. MAJN 0530/ 0545 UD 0645 KAWR 1015 MAO 1130 VSG 1230. After cleaning, VSG Dep 1700, MAJN 2330 and continue to Chennai in its current route.
Advantages include TN gets a direct train to pilgrimage centres of Udupi Kollur Murudeshwara, Gokarna.
Main advantage will be freeing of Mangalore platforms in the night and morning hours. Bangalore Mangalore ONT can enter by morning 0530 and leave by 2230 from MAQ. One train

Yes this is a good suggestion....all depends on whether VSG(SWR) can accept and has got space to accommodate. West coast I think doesnt have too many end to end passengers...mostly intermediate. But it can be a good option. Rake sharing between MAQ Mail & West Coast in that case will have to be discontinued

MAQ doesn't need 4 daily trains to Chennai. Two should be enough. One can be extended to Vasco and another can run as MAQ HAS KJM MAS route.
