PRYJ - DDU Stretch is Super Congested. It creates problem for every train, be it Mail/Express or Freight. Freight traffic is high on this stretch as Freight load from Kanpur side & Manikpur Side combines which further goes towards DDU & some goes to CPU side as well. So incoming traffic (towards PCOI/PRYJ) is also high. Managing Freight traffic as well as Passenger traffic is not easy. Rest of the problem is Due to PCOI/NYN Scissor Crossing. For which NCR had requested several times to RB for construction of Flyovers to avoid bunching of trains.
EDFC from Karchana to Chunar was expected to be operational around June 2022. But it is delayed now. EDFC will solve majority of the problem faced...
