Does anyone know the status of Hyderabad metro green line construction beyond MGBS? If no works have started, the govt should consider to reroute the line to Nehru Zoo via Charminar. Later on this would continue via Shivrampally, Katedhan, Shamshabad to Hyderabad Airport. Or is it better to construct metro line upto Falaknuma and then via Chandrayangutta , Pahadi Sharif to RGIA? Your opinions on this

I've heard of this light rail. I think it is a good idea since it will serve public on one of the routes that has the worst traffic. Govt should start expanding metro infrastructure i fell rather than building more lanes. Adding more lanes, will only make people use the routes more, leading to more congestion. As is seen in cities like Los Angeles etc.
What i guess is once the srdp (flyover development plan ) is finished in Hyderabad
Merely 3-4 flyovers left
Then they will focus on missing metro line links
Lakdikapul-gachibowli
Nagole - lbnagar- falaknuma

The light rail what ktr is planning bw jntu gachibowli is a big disappointment for me ..he is planning to build dedicated bus corridor which would be elevated only at some places and chances of extending towards kphb nizampet bachu pally will be very less or one has to take separate tickets and change stations for red line blue line and airport line
Only metro with line interchanges would help to reduce traffic in Hyderabad

We Indians are first genration car users and present per capita cars is very less may be single digits and analysts feel they will be more cars on road. By 2030 they wil be 7 million cars sold per year from the present 3 millions. Moreover it's a pride for the people to own and drive for atleast next 10 to 20 yrs from now for people to get fatigue and shift to public transport. So roads are most required and there should be atleast 3 lanes in each side inspite of metro line. One more factor is the avg distance travelled per day per direction should be more then 10km ( end to end travel present time is 30-45mins) should increase so that people think of time saving and shifting to public transport. The number of such trips should increase in volume for metros to sucessful
I am actually scared for this. All the Indian cities will become gas chambers and traffic hotspots if people keep buying cars like this. This car frenzy is something we should let go. Many Europeans, East Asian cities don't use a lot of cars and use public transportation rather. We should go down the same path.
