Base Fare for airways keeps changing from time to time with the highest being during holidays and last moment bookings.
Cancellation Charges for airways is way higher than railways.
If one books to and fro ticket availing some mere discount and if he does not wish to travel for the latter part of his journey he cannot cancel his ticket and has to forfeit the amount. Whereas in Railways, one can atleast get back after the deduction of the fare calculated against the distance he/she has traveled.

I agree with your points Dipyaman
but the service charge levied is creating panic among people and still they are not able to update it properly on their servers that why it is too slow since yesterday.
आप सर्विस टैक्स ले रहे हो ठीक है लेकिन केंस्लेशन के टाइम यह वापिस कैसे होगा या कितना वापिस होगा इस बारे में कोई भी अधिकृत रूप से मुह खोलने को तैयार नहीं है

For this you have to set an example: if you want Railways to bow: Initiate the correspondence war with first station master, then area manager, division, zone, and ultimately to board and RM... with copies to Press, and Service tax officer, Central excise department, or your area.... This will be taken note of them when they cross check the entries and will ensure: proper refunds are accounted .... Mean time You may hope: IR will give refund in 'due course of time'
