Base Fare for airways keeps changing from time to time with the highest being during holidays and last moment bookings.
Cancellation Charges for airways is way higher than railways.
If one books to and fro ticket availing some mere discount and if he does not wish to travel for the latter part of his journey he cannot cancel his ticket and has to forfeit the amount. Whereas in Railways, one can atleast get back after the deduction of the fare calculated against the distance he/she has traveled.
