I see no harm in considering Panchaganga as Suratkal is very much in Mangalore City limits .

Surathkal railway station is 16 Kms away from Mangaluru. And it requires atleast 30 minutes to reach. Panchaganga Express arrives Surathkal very early morning. At that time no proper mode of transportation is available to travel to Mangaluru. So, it will not help Mangaluru people very much.

Surathkal is NOT in Mangalore city limits. I am from Surathkal. It takes 45-60 minutes by bus to reach Mangalore from Surathkal railway station. Autos charge 450+.
