Lower berth is still easily available compared to Side Lower ones considering that many of the latter ones go to RAC candidates. Also, IRCTC really seems to favor older folks when giving SL berths. I have only gotten SL berth when I booked way early otherwise it was Upper most of the time.

tickets Well in Advance.Means book ticket before 3 or 4 months.
🔸if your are two persons travelling in train.keep preference Side Lower and Side Upper.
🔸Book ticket in High Rac😂😂

Don't take seriously.Enjoy it.
Only Railfans can feel the importance of Side Lower Seat.
