Yo, listen up! The Delhi Dehradun Expressway is gonna open in Dec 2023. That means the distance between Dehradun and Delhi will be just 220 kms, city center to city center. And the travel time will only be 2.5 - 3.5 hours. So why bother with the Shatabdi and VB trains? Everyone will prefer the electric/AC/non-AC buses that can cover the same distance in just 3-4 hours. It's time for the railways to upgrade the shamli line and create a shorter bypass route to Dehradun. Otherwise, train travel on this route will become a thing of the past. Rail travel takes 4.5 to 6 hours while cars/buses only take 2.5 - 4 hours.
