This used to be Lucknow Mathura Express originally, IIRC. That's the reason it still loops around to Mathura instead of taking the direct route from Agra towards Rajasthan.

Eithercase, this used to be a rather sparse train with few AC coaches and NO FIRST AC back in ICF days. Tickets were easily available until it was rush season [ read: holidays in coaching hub Kota ]. I once saw it's WL rush to four hundred the day it opened before going into REGRET.

Ah yes, it runs via another route b/w Etawah and Agra now. It used to run originally via the normal Tundla line, I think.
