Do you folks think a VB in the North East would work? I was looking at the GHY-DBRT section. It doesn't have a proper Intercity connecting it in the morning. The route length comes under the purview of running a VB. Are the tracks there capable of running a VB; maybe an eight car one? I know the answer is probably not since even the Rajdhani doesn't have much of an mps in that section. Is this due to the largely hilly terrain of that area?

Won't get enough patronage.
Major stations along the route already has better trains to ghy.
DBRG, NTSK, MXN has overnight Rajdhani, Vivek and Kamrup
DMV has overnight 15670 (dep 2125 are 0315) and 15604 (dep 2330 arr 0500).

usually take these trains to Ghy, arrive early morning in Ghy, complete the task during the day and return same evening in Rajdhani or Ledo intercity.

A shatabdi was already tried which was cancelled due to poor patronization.

If they really want to run a VB in this route, it can be between GHY-DMV

The Jan Shatabdi covers GHY-DMV in barely over 4 hours. I doubt then, that VB will get much patronage for a distance of just 250 kms. Maybe no VB right now in the North East can be run.
