Currently the odd timings of Sahyadri express do not get passengers from Sangli or Miraj. Hence it runs empty almost every day. Change timings of Sahyadri Express to start from Mumbai at 23:00. This will become a popular and waitlisted train as passengers travelling to Sangli Miraj will us Sahyadri.

Howbout removing 2 sleeper class compartments and adding one 2nd sitting and one AC Chair Car Compartment to Sahyadri Express ?
This would make the short distance travel (e.g. Mumbai-Pune / Sangli/Miraj- Pune etc) more cheaper. It would also attract and accomodate more passangers.
Many times, I have travelled by this train from Pune-Mumbai and paid 20 RS. to TT for travelling in a sleeper class and mind you, at times I have seen complete empty sleeper class compartments between Pune and Mumbai.

sounds like a decent idea. this train stops pleantly between pune and mumbai and i guess does pick up passengers enroute. I used to travel by this train from shivajinagar to talegoan, if i missed the local
why to convert into janshatabdi and increase fares for a reduction in running time of few minutes?
