Currently the odd timings of Sahyadri express do not get passengers from Sangli or Miraj. Hence it runs empty almost every day. Change timings of Sahyadri Express to start from Mumbai at 23:00. This will become a popular and waitlisted train as passengers travelling to Sangli Miraj will us Sahyadri.

I dont agree that the train on that route will run empty. Just check the WL status of Mahalaxmi Express. It is always waitlisted due to proper timings. Sahyadri is too slow and hence runs empty.
