Well, this is often a subject of confusion among Timeline Monitors / other non-monitors who update Timelines. So I decided to cover this topic.
For example, a station has 4 PFs (PF 1, 2, 3 & 4). For this station, a train arrives in fixed platforms 1 & 2, but not in PF 3 & 4. However this train is known to arrive more frequently in PF 2 (say 60% chance) than in PF 1 (say 40% chance). So how should the Station Platform update for this train be made?
Everyone kindly participate....

if the train arrives at pf x, once in month, railfans with their own thought process might update 10 odd platforms for a train and there there will be catfights over PF updation in the TL Forum. let it be restricted to one majority PF with remarks in train notes about less frequently used PFs.
if its 50:50 for two PFs, then the TOSS.
