If I am correct, they didn't prefix his name. They replaced the station's name with his. Second, soldier's names were hardly ever used in context of railway stations. The proper way to honor a solider is written, with the highest being Paramveer Chakra. Third, going by your logic, shouldn't every station in India then have a name prefixed with a soldier's name then since India fought in atleast 4 conventional wars?

The people who renamed the station do not care about the solider. They are just riding a sympathy wave for him

that is crossing that part and want to capitalize on it.

I'll ask you a simple question. Do you remember who Abdul Hamid was? I don't think anyone would even recognize his name here despite him winning Paramvir Chakra in the 1965 war. The same would happen in this case. One decade or two down the line, every one will forget who this soldier was. All that will remain is a station that will remain to confuse people because it's name should be Udhampur but the actual name is "Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan".

You ask what is the proper way to honor a solider? The proper way is not by changing names; but to create a condition that it never comes to pass that a soldier of ours dies. I'll go a step furthur and ask aren't most folks in India common foot soldiers who spend their day fearing for their lives? I am sure you would be aware that hundreds of people per year lose their lives in Mumbai locals. If the powers to be that rename stations so gallantly really cared about lives, they would have fixed it and saved HUNDREDS of lives per year amounting to thousands till now. In my book, that is way more big a deed than renaming stations to milk political ends.

see let me be clear with one thing, i don't have issues with any govt but i noticed that this govt is trying to replace everything given by other govts prior than this

& this is my point of view, everyone's point of view is welcomed but we're not gonna fight for something which isn't even use of us, ultimately we're all
