Some passengers were left without seats and claimed that people were already occupying seats at the yard, although RPF denies this. The lack of passenger trains to Samastipur from Muzaffarpur until 5 pm is adding to the overcrowding on these trains. Both trains stop at Dholi and Khudiram Bose Pusa stations on the Muzaffarpur-Samastipur line, making them popular for local daily commuters, vegetable and milk vendors, and college students returning from coaching classes.
