Agree to that. 70% people of ambedkar nagar take buses when they have to go to lucknow, because trains are slow and no ICE/Passanger train available.
Since Purvanchal expressway started, people prefer to pay 300-350 and be there in Lucknow within 3 hours, rather than catching a train and tolerating rush and stink for 6 7 hrs.

I don't fully understand but doesn't Ambedkar Nagar lie on the GD-GKP loop line or is it some other station? The only station on searching for Ambedkar Nagar comes up at Mhow in Indore.
Ambedkar Nagar is a district carved out of Faizabad. We do not have a station named Ambedkar Nagar, main station is Akbarpur Jn. Another decent station is Malipur.
Oh yes, Akbarpur I have heard and been through those tracks. They are still quite slowish tracks down there or atleast it used to be when I last traversed it few years ago. I wonder why there no Intercity via that route to LKO/LJN. Even the loop line from GD has an ICE and it sees okayish turnout.
That's because BJP has no foothold here! They managed to win the LS seat in 2014 modi wave. But it has traditionally been a stronghold of BSP.
In 22 all 5 MLA seats went to SP, current MP is from BSP.
