Similar treatment is given to 19204 for 25 km between DAS and DLJ where this train stands at DAS or JA or IGRL for almost 1 hour and then departs for DLJ.

I think it's mostly slack but primarily, due to criss cross of tracks when going from KGP to SDAH side. Only a few trains prefer crossing over towards Sealdah side instead of taking the straightforward route to HWH. Either case, this train will reach easily beyond midnight; not good enough a time still.

Lol, average of 13 kmph for that train. In this Puri - Sealdah case, the problem comes over when trains xing over to Sealdah station and in the process have to cross a lot of lines. The main line from Kharagpur goes straight to Howrah and no EMU or Intercity goes to Sealdah via this route; only a few long distance trains do this and all of them have this slack built in.
