Yo, nothing gonna boost the popularity of this train on weekdays cuz it only fills up 20% with just 100 seats taken out of the 390 available. Adding a stop at Gokarna might attract 50 more peeps going to Goa on weekends, but ain't gonna get them 50-100 folks from Mangalore. And hey, who's gonna be down for catchin' a train as late as 1810 from Madgaon? No tourists gonna show up, even for Gokarna, cuz check-in at the hotels don't start till 1200. And let's be real, no one needs or wants to reach Mangalore, a tier 1 city, late at night. Startin' the journey an hour earlier from Mangalore and 2 hours earlier from Madgaon, and skippin' dinner, will keep the fares low and might bump up the occupancy by another 50.

Any VB (not sure what that means tho) with at least 70% occupancy can easily hit 90% if they attract travelers for the extra 100km journey. But any VB with less than 50% occupancy on weekdays (based on sections, not overall bookings) should just be canceled to cut operational losses. And that extra journey should contribute at least 30% of the section's occupancy.
